Now when you’re out camping, what can you do?
look up and watch the clouds make shapes for you
explore all around with a friend or two
paddle out on the water in a big canoe

before it gets dark, set up the camp site
pitch your tent where you want to sleep tonight
as the evening comes there’s a warming light
from the camp fire burning strong a bright

then what do you know?
we roast marshmallows!
and when it’s time for camp songs

bright stars twinkling down at me
moon light shining through the trees
tree tops swaying in the evening breeze

now it’s time for bed, but what do you hear?
“hoot hoot” it’s an owl and it must be near!
“buzz buzz” the mosquito whispers in my ear
“chirp chirp” goes the cricket singing loud and clear

now the day is done
it was so much fun
turn out your flashlight
and listen to the critters play in the night!
