The Canadian national bird
Is the famous common loon
It started in Ontario
But now all Canada sings its tune!
Nunavut loves rock ptarmigan
Newfoundland Atlantic puffin
Manitoba great grey owls
But where does the goose fit in?
What ever happened to the Canada goose?
Was he ever in the running?
With his black webbed feet
And his noisy beak
I think he really is quite stunning!
Tweet, Tweet Chirp, Chirp
Tweedle-eedle-eedle-eedle
Tweet, Tweet Chirp, Chirp
Tweedle-eedle-eedle la!
Tweet, Tweet Chirp, Chirp
Tweedle-eedle-eedle-eedle
Tweet, Tweet Chirp, Chirp
Tweedle-eedle-eedle HONK!
The Yukon has the raven
BC the Steller’s jay
Alberta has the great horned owl
Nova Scotia amazing osprey
New Brunswick likes black-capped chickadees,
Quebec the snowy owl
Saskatchewan loves sharp-tailed grouse
But where’s the waterfowl?
With their long black necks,
And brown jackets,
They form the flying “Vs”
Always honking loud,
It makes me proud,
To sing for Canadian geese!
Prince Edward Island has the blue jay
The Northwest Territory gyrfalcons
But I wonder how it happened,
That we forgot our honking friends
